Jaimi and Brian- Engagement Session- Santa Barbara

I love Santa Barbara. And to be able to do an engagement session in Santa Barbara with some really cool people? Even cooler! Often times I am asked what my favorite spots to shoot are at certain locations. My answer? Wherever the light leads me. Lighting and background are different every day, so I like to just show up and follow my eye to the pleasing backgrounds with gorgeous light and let my clients seamlessly mix in.

Amanda and Mike- Engagement Session- El Matador State Beach

This is a perfect example of a couple that didn't want to do an engagement session at first, but after I talked to them about the importance of it, agreed to it. They were both super uncomfortable with the camera but you couldn't tell from the photos. It's a combo of making them feel comfortable with me not only as a person but their photographer. Once they think of me as "Toby" and not "The Photographer", they both relax and just have fun with it.

Erin and Jonathan Balagna- July 10, 2010- L.A. Temple

This was another wedding that took place in three places. We started out at the L.A. Temple in Santa Monica where we got some amazing pictures on the grounds outside the temple. We then stopped by El Matador State Beach on the way to the reception in Thousand Oaks. There is always something about a bride in her wedding dress taking photos at the beach. It always works. Great day and only got rained on for 15-20 minutes.

Alison and Fred Kailer- July 4, 2010- Lost Canyons GC

You really learn a lot about a couple when you see the ones who love them get so emotional at events like this. It was evident in the speeches, not only from the best man and maid of honor, but also the grooms father, how much this couple has touched so many lives and means the world to all of them. They are very special people and are very deep in love.

Deb and Ryan- Engagement Session- Laguna Beach

We went to Laguna Beach for Deb and Ryan's engagement pictures. Ryan proposed at the Surf and Sand Club so we figured, what better place for their engagement photos. The one consistent thing I always love about the beach is that it is always a relaxed environment for pictures. It really helps the couple feel comfortable with the camera and makes for some great photos.

Rachel and Matt Wallman- June 5, 2010- Walnut Grove

This is my first time photographing a wedding at Walnut Grove in Moorpark. All I can say is wow!!! This site has quickly become one of my favorite sites to shoot at. Incredible greenery and gorgeous light coming through the walnut trees. Rachel and Matt were so unbelievably comfortable in front of the camera. I didn't want to stop shooting! Coupled with the incredible Michele Spring coordinating and Command Performance Catering, what an incredible day.

Aimee and Shayne Stalnaker- June 4, 2010- Grand Traditions Estate

This was my second wedding at Grand Traditions Estate in Fallbook this year. It is nice to shoot at the same locations multiple times

and see how many different options you can get. Really love this location.

Had a blast working with this couple all around. From their engagement pictures to the wedding, just cool people.

Also great to work with Rick Borja for the first time. Here's to many more.
